More than just a restaurant...
The Dragonfly Cafe is committed to providing the highest quality ingredients, procured locally and organically whenever possible. All of our dairy and non-cured meats are hormone and antibiotic free, and all of our baked goods are made in-house using local organic flour, sweet cream butter and natural sweeteners. Taos Roasters supplies the Dragonfly with organic fair-trade coffee, and the local Rasband Creamery provides us with RBGH free dairy.
Our flour is organic and comes from the local Sangre de Cristo cooperative mill. In the summer, we grow most of our own produce, and the rest comes from local, organic growers. We buy local hand-picked organic fruit and wild crafted mushrooms.
In addition to recycling all of our glass, cardboard, tin and aluminum, we use compostable plastic and non-chlorine biodegradable paper products. All table waste is composted and applied to our garden beds, providing the restaurant with much of its organic produce throughout the summer months.
